Every day we read or hear about young people under 50 leaving this world & we are worried , isn't it ?
When I started my career, we had office at 9 and got back home by 7 or 8, then came gadgets & video calls and now it has become 24x7.
The pace has gone mad and I don't know whom we want to impress with such a pace, definitely not our family.
The core of the problem is we want to acquire materialistic wealth as soon as possible. Even branded underwear on EMI, and to ensure EMI is paid, we have to work like a machine to impress whom we don't know ? If it is society then we are going a wrong way friends. Some of we might think that if we are not around, the company/everything will stop / collapse, that's a mirage we have built around us or in our mind. World will move on & that's fact of life.
One month, we move away from our desk; trust me, nothing changes. In the first few days, we received lot of messages , calls & then you become obsolte for them. So, my dear friends, slow down. We are racing too fast, and our engine is at a natural pace , that is where there is stress all around.
If we are not around, our company will not close. Within a week they will have a person and you will be seen nowhere, You are replaceable my friend.
So take a break, spend regular time with family and friends, and enjoy life. We are not born alone to work like a machine, we work to live a beautiful life which can be remembered, and the beauty of life is definitely not in materialistic assets, though some may disagree this , but eventually after certain time they will accept.
I was just like you but soon learned a lesson, and now I have changed a little & trying to change more . I have started loving a slow & simple life. Seeking & enjoying small moments of happiness.
Remember, tough times are part of the package in life for everyone. Even rich people may not have money issues, but they have some other issues. So everyone is balanced out
Don't be a part of Rat race, Rat may run fast but die soon where as a turtle is slow but live very long life and still win the race, we have to have balance here also sometimes Rat & sometime Tortoise.
