Law of wasted efforts

Do you know that lions only succeed in a quarter of their hunting attempts — which means they fail in 75% of their attempts and succeeds in only 25% of them.

Despite this small percentage shared by most predators, they don't despair in their pursuit and hunting attempts.

The main reason for this is not because of hunger as some might think but it is the understanding of the “Law of Wasted Efforts” that have been instinctively built into animals, a law in which nature is governed.

Half of the eggs of fishes are eaten...
half of the baby bears die before puberty...
most of the world's rains fall in oceans...
and most of the seeds of trees are eaten by birds.

Scientists have found that animals, trees, and other forces of nature are more receptive to the law of "wasted efforts".

*Only humans think that the lack of success in a few attempts is failure...* but the truth is that: we only fail when we *"stop trying".*

Success is not to have a life free of pitfalls and falls... but success is to walk over your mistakes and go beyond every stage where your efforts were wasted looking forward to the next stage.

If there is a word that summarizes this world, it will simply be: continue all over again.

World on ur shoulder

On a flight to Kuala Lumpur recently, I noticed a young girl of seven request the stewardess for an orange juice. The stewardess was probably over-worked and responded quite curtly with ‘I will come by later if I remember’.

The young girl smiled and got up to follow her to the galley. I noticed that she came back after a short while with a glass of orange juice.

As she was seated by the aisle next to me, I struck up a conversation with her. I asked her what she did when she went to the galley! She said she offered to help the stewardess if she had too much work. The stewardess apparently hugged her and appreciated her offer and gave her the orange juice. So, I asked her why she did that.

Her response was absolutely magical!

She said, my mum always tells me that when people are upset, it has more to do with them having to carry the world on their shoulders. During these moments, she says, I should help offload the world from their shoulders.

I wish I had had her wisdom when I was her age. Our parents probably tell us the same variation, but very few implement it like she did.

Be your own master....

An elderly Zen Master is about to die when his disciples gather around him and ask:
"Master, you never told us who your master was." We asked many times, but you always avoided the answer. Now that you are leaving this world, please tell us.

The master replied:
“I never answered that question because I didn’t have an exclusive master, I learned from lots and lots of people. The first I teach was a small child.

I went to a city once. Although I did not know the truth at the time, I was a highly educated and educated man. They are known throughout the country as famous scientists; even abroad. People began to walk up to me, believing that I knew the truth, and I unknowingly pretended to really know it. I was unconscious. I became a teacher without knowing or experiencing anything from the truth. Without entering my own inner world, I talked about things of tremendous significance. I knew all the scriptures, all in my little finger.

But imagine, at the time of the story, I was in a place where no one was known, in a remote country, and I longed for someone to ask me a question already and show me what I knew; but no one asked. I had to keep quiet for three days. It was like a fast for me. I was already very hungry for the audience, someone who was watching me, but I hadn’t met anyone who would have known me. I went into town. In the evening, a little boy was just holding a clay lantern in his hand. I addressed:
- Son, can I ask you something? Where are you taking this clay lamp?

"To the church," the boy replied. My mother said take it with me because it is dark there and my mother has a habit of placing a lantern in the church in the evenings so that the god of the church does not have to be in the dark.

- You look very intelligent. Can you tell me something else? Did you light this lamp yourself?
"Yes," the boy replied.

-Then, please answer another third question. If you lit the lantern, can you tell me where the flame came from? You had to see it.

The boy laughed to himself.

- I will show you something. Just listen, ”he said.

With that, he blew out the flame, then continued:

- The flame is gone before your eyes. Can you tell me where he went? You had to see it!

I couldn't answer, I was ashamed of myself. I leaned down and kissed her foot. He was my first master. At that moment, I realized that all my knowledge of philosophy and metaphysics was useless. I don't know a single thing about myself. Not even where the light comes from and where the light is going from and in the meantime I’m talking about who created the world how and when! After meeting the boy, I threw away all the knowledge I had learned so far; I burned all my holy documents. I gave up on the idea of being famous, throwing my whole reputation so far. I started begging, hiding my identity from everyone and slowly getting deeper and deeper into meditation, discovering my own intelligence. I became one with him ....

With that, the master closed his eyes and left in peace. The disciples stood for a while longer. A deep silence descended on them and they understood everything.
Be a master of yourself. The answers are in you. When you are not learning from your own experience, your knowledge is completely useless.

short stories...

*"Story One"*

A certain company has a tradition of holding a party and a lottery every Christmas Eve.

The rules of the lottery draw are as follows: each employee pays ten dollars as a fund. There are three hundred people in the company. In other words, a total of three thousand dollars can be raised.  The winner will take the sum .

On the day of the lottery draw, the office was filled with a lively atmosphere. Everyone wrote their names on the slips of paper and put them in the lottery box.

However, a young man hesitated when he wrote.  Because he thought that the company's cleaning aunt's frail and sickly son was going to have an operation recently, but she did not have the money to pay for the operation, which made her very troubled.

So, even though he knew that the chance of winning was slim, with only a three percent chance, the man wrote the name of the cleaner on the paper.

The tense moment came. The boss doubled in the lottery box, and finally drew out a note. The man also kept praying in his heart: I hope the cleaning aunt can win the prize...Then the boss carefully announced the winner’s  Name, a miracle happened!

The winner turned out to be the cleaner!  Cheers broke out in the office, and the cleaning lady hurriedly came to the stage to accept the award. She almost burst into tears and said movedly: I am so lucky!  With this money, my son has hope!

At the beginning of the party, while thinking about this "Christmas miracle", the man paced to the lottery box. He took out a piece of paper and opened it casually. The name on it was also the name of Aunt Clean!  The man was very surprised. He took out several pieces of paper one after another. Although the handwriting on them was different, the names were all the same, all of them were the names of the cleaning aunt!  The man's eyes were red, and he clearly understood that there is a Christmas miracle in the world, but the miracle will not fall from the sky, but people are required to create it by themselves!

 *"Story Two"*

One afternoon, I went for a walk with a friend in the suburbs. Suddenly, an old man in tattered clothes approached with a bag of green vegetables in his hand.  The sales of those vegetables are very poor, the leaves are dehydrated and yellow, and there are holes in them that are bitten by insects.  But my friend bought three bags without saying a word. The old man also embarrassedly explained: "I grew this vegetable myself. It rained a while ago, and the vegetable was soaked. It looks ugly. I'm sorry.

After the old man left, I asked my friend: Are you really going to eat these vegetables?

He said : No, these vegetables can no longer be eaten.

 Then why are you buying?

Because it is impossible for anyone to buy those vegetables .  If I don't buy it, the old man will probably have no income.

I admire my friend's good deeds, so I caught up with the old man and bought some vegetables from him.  The old man said very happily, "I sold it all day, and only you are willing to buy it. Thank you so much.

Several handfuls of green vegetables that I can't eat at all taught me a valuable lesson.

When we are in a low ebb, we all hope that miracles will happen to us; but when we are capable, are we willing to be the one who creates miracles?  !

When reading this article, everyone has two choices:

 1) You can spread it, spread some positive messages, and make the world fill with love.

 2) You can also ignore it at all, as if you never saw it.

However, your little sharing action may illuminate the destiny of countless people. People are great because of their dreams, and even more successful because of actions. You are changed because of learning!

Meditation

A young seeker came to a great Sufi master. As he entered his room and saluted the master with great respect, the master said, “Good. That’s perfectly good. What do you want?”

He said, “I want to be initiated.”

The master said, “I can initiate you, but what about the crowd that is following you?”

He looked back; there was nobody. He said, “What crowd? I am alone.”

The master said, “You are not. Just close your eyes and see the crowd.”

The young man closed his eyes and he was surprised. There was the whole crowd that he had left behind: his mother weeping, his father telling him not to go, his wife in tears, his friends preventing him – every face, the whole crowd. The master said, “Now open your eyes. Can you say that people are not following you?”

He said, “I am sorry. You are right. The whole crowd I am carrying within myself.”

So the master said, “Your first work is to get rid of the crowd. This is your problem. And once you are finished with the crowd, things are very simple. The day you are finished with the crowd I will initiate you, because I can only initiate you; I cannot initiate this crowd.”

The story is meaningful. Even when you are alone you are not alone. And a man of meditation, even though in the crowd of thousands of people, is alone.

When you are alone, nobody can see the crowd, because it is within you. And when a meditative man is in the crowd and yet alone, nobody can see his aloneness, because that too is within him. To know your aloneness is to be acquainted with existence, nature, your reality. And it gives such blissfulness that there is no comparison with any joy that you have felt in the past.

Sun & Cave

One day the sun and a cave struck up a conversation. The sun had trouble understanding what “dark” meant and the cave didn’t quite get the hang of “light and clear” so they decided to change places.

The cave went up to the sun and said, “Ah, I see, this is beyond wonderful. Now come down and see where I have been living.”

The sun went down to the cave and said, “Gee, I don’t see any difference.”

---------

When the sun went down, it took its light along and even the darkest corners were illuminated. That's why the sun couldn't see any difference.

I love one of the quotes from an old book that said "The enlightened ones can never be sent to hell or pushed into darkness. They carry their heaven on their shoulders all the time".

We thought that heaven is a place where were we are supposed to go, perhaps it was a state of mind we were supposed to achieve.

If you are full of darkness within, full of negativity, fear and doubt, you become a cave unknowingly. It's a hell within and no matter how much you accumulate, you still remain hollow.

If you are illuminated like the sun, then the darkness of the cave wouldn't matter. You could be in the worse of circumstances, you'll still be able to find a blessing somewhere.

You'll be carrying your heaven with you.

Pencil & Life....

Once upon a time........

A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter.
At one point he asked:🧒🏻
‘Are you writing a story about what we’ve done? Is it a story about me?’

👵🏼His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson:
I am writing about you, actually, but more important than the words is the pencil I’m using. I hope you will be like this pencil when you grow up.’

Intrigued, the boy looked at the pencil. It didn’t seem very special.

🧒🏻He said, 'But it’s just like any other pencil I’ve ever seen!’

👵🏼Granny replied, ‘That depends on how you look at things. It has seven qualities which, if you manage to hang on them, will make you a person who is always at peace with the world.’

‘First quality:  You are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is a hand guiding your steps. We call that hand God, and He always guides us according to His will.’

‘Second quality:  Now and then, I have to stop writing and use a sharpner. That makes the pencil suffer a little, but afterwards, he’s much sharper. So you, too, must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows, because they will make you a better person.’

‘Third quality:  The pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out any mistakes. This means that correcting something we did is not necessarily a bad thing; it helps to keep us on the road to justice.’

‘Fourth quality:  What really matters in a pencil is not its wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.’

'Fifth quality:  It always leaves a mark. In just the same way, you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark, so try to be conscious of that in your every action.'

'Sixth quality :  It gets shorter and shorter while in use, so also life. Make the most while it lasts.'

'Finally the Seventh quality of pencil is :  It writes till the very end. Be useful and productive till your dying day.'

The pencil may vanish, but the impression it leaves, stay on forever...

Afterwards

I did not write this -
but WOW does it speak to my heart...!!!
Worth to read.

Barely the day started and...
it's already six in the evening.
Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday...
and the month is already over...
and the year is almost over...
and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed...
and we realize that we lost our Parents, Grand Parents, Uncles, Aunts, other Relatives, Friends...
And we realize it's too late to go back....
So... Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time...
Let's keep looking for activities that we like...
Let's put some color in our grey hair...
Let's smile at the little things in life that puts calm in our hearts.
And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity the time we are left with.

Let's try to eliminate the afters...
I'm doing it after...
I'll say after...
I'll think about it after...
We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.
Because what we don't understand is that:
Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...
Afterwards, priorities change...
Afterwards, the charm is broken...
Afterwards, health passes...
Afterwards, the kids grow up...
Afterwards parents get old...
Afterwards, promises are forgotten...
Afterwards, the day becomes the night...
Afterwards life ends...
And then it's often too late....
So... Let's leave nothing for later...
Because by waiting for later, we can lose the best moments,
the best experiences,
best friends,
the best family...
The day is today...
The moment is now...

We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.

So let's see if you have time to read this message and then share it.
Or maybe you'll leave it for...
 ′′ later "...
And you'll never share it...

Making a big life change is pretty scary ...
But , you know what is even scarier?
Regret .

So start celebrating the life , don't just live it

Happiness

In a telephone interview, the radio announcer asked his guest, a millionaire, "What made you happiest in life?"

The millionaire said:
I have gone through four stages of happiness in life and finally I understood the meaning of true happiness.

The first stage was to accumulate wealth and means. But at this stage I did not get the happiness I wanted.

Then came the second stage of collecting valuables and items. But I realized that the effect of this thing is also temporary and the lustre of valuable things does not last long.

Then came the third stage of getting big projects. Like buying a football team, buying a tourist resort, etc. But even here I did not get the happiness I had imagined.

The fourth time a friend of mine asked me to buy a wheelchair for some disabled children.

At a friend's request, I immediately bought a wheelchair. But the friend insisted that I go with him and hand over the wheelchairs to the children. I got ready and went with it. There I give these chairs to these children with my own hands. I saw the strange glow of happiness on the faces of these children. I saw them all sitting on chairs, moving around and having fun. It was as if they had arrived at a picnic spot.

But I felt real joy when I started to leave and one of the kids grabbed my leg. I gently tried to free my legs but the child stared at my face and held my legs tightly.

I bent down and asked the child: Do you need anything else?
The answer that this child gave me not only made me happy but also changed my life completely.

This child said: "I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognize you and thank you once again"

Be Patient....

Rahul Dravid on Patience -

“When I’m requested to speak to youngsters I like talking about this phase of my life and liken it to fascinating plant: The Chinese Bamboo. You can take a Chinese bamboo seed and plant it in the ground, water and nurture the seed for an entire year & not even see a single sprout. Infact, you’ll not see a sprout for 5 years. But suddenly, a tiny shoot will spring from the ground. And over the next 6 weeks, the plant can grow as tall as 90 feet. It can grow as fast as 39 inches every 24 hours. You can literally watch the plant grow.

What was the plant doing during these 5 years, seemingly dormant period, it was growing its roots. For 5 full years it was preparing itself for rapid, full growth. Without this root structure, the plant simply couldn’t support itself for its future growth. Some would say the plant grew 90 feet in 6 weeks, I would say it grew 90 feet in 5 years & 6 weeks.”

So keep watering and nurturing yourself. One day you will sprout and may be grow as fast as a Chinese Bamboo tree. No one becomes a mid night success, there are years of labor and pain behind that.

"God's delays are not god's denials."

Can you judge ?

A young labourer came to a restaurant one evening to have a meal. The owner engaged him in a conversation and found out that he was saving to bring his family to the city so they could get a chance at a better life. He had an aged mother, wife and two young sons who he hoped to give good education so they could have a more decent life. He had just arrived in the city and found some menial work at a scrap metal site down the road. It was going to be his only meal of the day and he could only spend a few cents.

The owner was impressed with his hardwork and diligence, and his family values. He encouraged the labourer and wrapped his meal for him. He took his order personally and told him that it would cost him 50 cents.

Several years went by and the labourer stopped at the restaurant every evening to get his one meal of the day and chat with the restaurant owner who always encouraged him and asked about his aged mother, his wife and young sons, and how his plans were going.

Finally, the labourer came by one evening with a big smile on his face. He had bought a modest house in a good neighborhood with a good school for his boys and he had just sent for his family to join him. The restaurant owner was very happy for him and congratulated him. The labourer then told him that he was in a mood to celebrate and he would be spending an entire 5 dollars on his meal that evening. The restaurant owner told him it was well-deserved, wrapped up his meal and he went on his way home.

When the labourer got home and opened up his meal pack, he was shocked to see that it was the same type of food he had been having every day for the last 6 years. He was very disappointed because he had been looking forward to a feast to celebrate his  big achievement. He certainly deserved something better after scrimping on his meals all those years. He was mad at the restaurant owner and felt robbed of his money and his celebration. He felt he had been cheated by his very good friend.

He immediately went back to the restaurant to make his complaint. The restaurant owner had already left and he met one of the staff with whom he was quite familiar.

"Say, John, I think you guys gave me the wrong meal pack today. You see, I got this same type of meal every day for 50 cents but today I am celebrating and decided to spend 5 whole dollars at your restaurant. But I was cheated and got just the same meal as every other day!"

"Well, sir, this is our most expensive meal and it costs 5 dollars!"

It suddenly dawned on the labourer that he had not been cheated at all by his friend. In fact, the restaurant owner had been giving him their best meal which cost 5 dollars just for 50 cents for 6 years! He felt very ashamed of himself for thinking that his good friend had cheated him.

"It's all a misunderstanding then," he said and turned to leave quickly to hide the tears in his eyes.

"One minute, sir," said the staff. "My boss said you were going to come back and that I was to give you this bag."

When the labourer opened the bag, he found all the 50 cents he had ever spent at this restaurant. Unable to hold back the tears now, he sat down on a bench and wept quite unashamedly.

He had judged too quickly..

He'd felt entitled and a little prideful because of his sense of arrival.

He had repaid kindness with suspicion and anger.

He had failed to appreciate or give proper *thanks* where it was due.

Spread positivity

The little boy came from school on Saturday and told his father, my teacher has given us home-work to Hug 10 people and tell them - "Be patient, trust life and I Love you".

The Dad said - "OK, we will go to the Mall tomorrow morning and do it".

The child woke up all spirited up in the morning, got ready. Went to his Dad and said - "lets go!!"

The father said - "there is Heavy rainfall, I fear nobody might be there".

The Child still insisted. So the Father drove in the horrible rainy weather to the Mall.

They stood in the mall for 1 hour, and the little boy hugged 9 people.
His father then said - "now lets go, its raining heavily and we shouldn't get stuck!"

Sad the son went along with his father's orders. As they where driving past, the child pointed at a random house. Said - "please dad, just 1 person is remaining, I will go to that house and complete my homework"!

The father smiled and pulled the car over.

The child went to the door and began to ring the bell and pound the door strongly with his knuckles. He kept waiting. Finally the door was opened gently.

A lady came out with a very sad look and gently asked:

"What can I do for you, son?

With radiant eyes and a bright smile the child said:
"Ma'am my teacher has told to Hug 10 people and tell them - "Be patient, trust life and I Love you".
I have hugged 9. May I hug you and pass the message to you.

The Lady embraced him, and started crying profusely.

On seeing that the Boy's father came out of the car. He went to the lady and asked - "Any problem madam?"

She composed herself, took them inside, gave them a cup of tea and then told his father -
"My husband died a while ago leaving me totally alone in this world. Today morning the loneliness took over me. Since morning I have been thinking that this is the end of the road for me.

Then I took a chair and a rope to my bedroom and decided to end my life. As I was seeing the world for one last time, I begged for forgiveness to GOD and then heard this knock. I thought to leave it. But then nobody comes to visit me.

When I opened the door, I couldn't believe what my eyes saw this little child. And when he said , "Be patient, trust life and I Love you".

I knew it was a message from God.

Suddenly I realized I don't want to die anymore, and have decided to make something productive of my life.

Give positive thoughts to people.

Tell them you stand by them and even if nothing, just listen to them.

You could be the medium that saves a life.!

Sunflowers

Sunflowers turn according to the position of the sun, in other words, they “chase the light.” You might already know this, but there is another fact that you probably do not know!

Have you ever wondered what happens on cloudy, rainy days when the sun is completely covered by clouds ?
...

This is an interesting question, isn’t it ?

Perhaps you think the sunflower withers or turns its head towards the ground. Is this what crossed your mind ?

Well, that’s incorrect !

This is what happens ?

They turn towards each other to share their energy.

Nature’s perfection is amazing; now let’s apply this reflection to our lives. We all want this light and seek it in different ways: in our family, friends, work and so on. But there are always going to be cloudy days, gloomy days, because there is no escaping them !

When this happens, most people become overwhelmed, low-spirited, and the most vulnerable ones, sometimes, become depressed.

How about following the example of the beautiful sunflowers Supporting and empowering each other. Nature has so much to teach us.

Wishing everyone a "Sun flower" trait of turning towards each other on their cloudy and gloomy days.

Spread goodness..it will come back to you.

What is your cup holding ?

Thursday 23 July 2020

how did he do it ?

Once upon a time, two young boys were playing on thin ice. As they were playing, one of them fell through that ice into the lake underneath. The other one tried hard and he couldn't reach his friend through that gap.

So he walked up to a tree, pulled and broke a branch of enormous size. He came back and started beating the ice and he saved his friend.

When the paramedics came and they were able to revive the kid, they were baffled and they couldn't understand that how did his friend break an enormous sized branch and then beat the ice and save his friend. They thought it was IMPOSSIBLE

Then the old man who was standing there said, "I can tell you how he did it."

They said, "How? How he did it."

The old man said, "There was no one here to tell him that he can't do it.".

Hard work or Destiny ?

There was a person selling Idli. It was fun always talking to him.

One fine day, I asked him out of fun, what do you think ? person stays ahead with hard work or destiny ? His answer cleared all my doubts.

He answered, there are 2 keys, one with you viz Hardwork & another with your manager ( God) viz destiny.

If you have seen locker of bank, it opens with 2 keys, so keep winding your key ie. do hardwork, you will never know then the other key is used by your manager & doors to success opens for you...

Value....

Michael Jordan was born in 1963, in the slums of Brooklyn, New York.

He had four  siblings and his father's earnings were not sufficient to provide for the whole family.

He grew up in a poor neighbourhood. Exposed to mindless violence and heavy discrimination in the slums, he saw for himself only a hopeless future.

His father saw in Michael, a lost soul and decided to do something.

He gave Michael, who was 13 years old, a piece of used clothing and asked: "What do you think the value of this outfit would be?"

Jordan replied,"Maybe one dollar."

His father asked, "Can you sell it for two dollars? If you can sell it, it would mean that you are a big help to your family."

Jordan nodded his head, "I'll try, but no guarantee that I'll be successful."

Jordan carefully washed the cloth clean. Because they didn't have an iron, to smoothen the cloth, he levelled it with a clothes brush on a flat board, then kept it in the sun to dry. The next day, he brought the clothes to a crowded underground station. After offering it for more than six hours. Jordan finally managed to sell it for $2. He took the two dollar bill and ran home.

After that, everyday he looked for used clothing, washed and ironed it, and sold it in the crowd.

More than ten days later, his father again gave him a piece of used clothing, "Can you think of a way you can sell this for 20 bucks?"

Aghast, Jordan said, "How is it possible? This outfit can only fetch two dollars at the most."

His father replied, "Why don't you try it first? There might be a way."

After breaking his head for a few hours, finally, Jordan got an idea.

He asked for cousin's helpto paint a picture of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse on the garment. Then he tried to sell it in the school where the children of the rich study.

Soon a housekeeper, who was there to pick his master, bought that outfit for his master. The master was a little boy of only 10 years. He loved it so much and he gave a five dollar tip. 25 dollars was a huge amount for Jordan, the equivalent of a month's salary of his father.

When he got home, his father gave him yet another piece of used clothing, "Are you able to resell it at a price of 200 dollars?" Jordan's eyes lit up.

This time, Jordan accepted the clothes without the slightest doubt. Two months later a popular movie actress from the movie "Charlie's Angels", Farah Fawcett came to New York for her Movie promos. After the press conference, Jordan made his way through the security forces to reach the side of Farah Fawcett and requested her autograph on the piece of clothing. When Fawcett saw this innocent child asking for her autograph, she gladly signed it.

Jordan was shouting very excitedly, "This is a jersey signed by Miss Farah Fawcett, the selling price is 200 dollars!" He auctioned off the clothes, to a businessman for a price of 1,200 dollars!

Upon returning home, his father broke into TEARS and said, "I am amazed that you did it My child! You're really great! "

That night, Jordan slept alongside his father. His father said, "Son, in your experience selling these three pieces of clothing, what did you learn about success?"

Jordan replied, "Where there's a will, there's a way."

His father nodded his head, then shook his head, "What you say is not entirely wrong! But that was not my intention. I just wanted to show you that a piece of used clothing which is worth only a dollar can also be increased in value, Then how about us - living & thinking humans? We may be darker and poorer, but what if we CAN increase our VALUE."

This thought enlightened young Jordan. Even a piece of used clothing could be made dignified, then why not me? There is absolutely no reason to underestimate myself.

From then on, Michael Jordan felt that his future would be beautiful and full of hope.

He went on to become the greatest basketball player of all times.

How can I increase my own value? I am finding it a very interesting thought.

Be innovative

An old man was selling watermelons. His pricelist reads 1 for $3 and 3 for $10.

A young man stopped by and bought 3 watermelons one by one paying $3 for each.

As the young man was walking away, he turned around and said, "Hey Old Man, do you realize I just bought 3 watermelons foe $9 instead of $10? May be business is not your thing."

The old man smiled and mumbled to himself, "People are funny. Everytime they buy three watermelons instead of one, yet they keep trying to teach me how to do business."

"Think Big, Grow More, Be Innovative".

Rise above criticism

One day, a school teacher wrote on the board the following:

*9×1=7*
*9×2=18*
*9×3=27*
*9×4=36*
*9×5=45*
*9×6=54*
*9×7=63*
*9×8=72*
*9×9=81*
*9×10=90*

When He was done, he looked back at the students and they were all laughing at him  because of the first equation which was wrong.

Then the teacher said the following:
I wrote the first equation wrong on purpose, because I wanted you to learn Something important.

This was for you to know how the world out there will TREAT you!

You can see that I wrote the RIGHT thing nine times, but none of you congratulated me for it.

But you all laughed and criticized me because of one wrong thing I did.

The lesson is:
The world will never appreciate the good you do a million times, but will criticize the one wrong thing you do. So don't Get Discouraged!

8 minute movie

A movie theater announced that an 8-minute movie won the title of Best Short Film in the World ...

So, it was decided to show this movie in the cinema hall for free, so that a large number of people could watch it.

The movie began with a snapshot of a room ceiling that was devoid of any decoration. Just a white ceiling ...

3 minutes passed without the camera moving and it did not move to any other scene, or any other part of the room.

Another 3 minutes passed without the camera moving and without changing the scene

After 6 boring minutes, the viewers started grumbling;  Some of them were about to leave the theater hall;  And some of them objected to the officials of the house because they wasted their time watching a ceiling ...

Suddenly, before the majority could leave, the camera lens slowly moved on a wall without any details as well until it reached down towards the floor, there a child appeared on a bed, who seems to be totally handicapped due to the spinal cord defect in his little body ...

The camera slowly moved to the side of the bed, showing a wheelchair.

The camera moved to the ceiling again;

Then a message appeared:
"We showed you only 8 minutes of this child's daily activity, only 8 minutes from the scene that this handicapped child watches all hours of his life, and you complained and weren’t patient for only six minutes.

You couldn't bear to watch it ..!

So know the value of every second of your life that you spend in wellness, and thank your God for every Blessing Bestowed on you.

The Lockdown has forced us to have the time to think about our lives and the many privileges that we have.

We thank God for the Blessing of the freedom of movement to go out of the house to see life, breathe the air, and experience

LIFE in its various colors ...

Appreciate LIFE  ❤️

Can you sleep when wind blows ??

The following story is a superb metaphorical exposition of the level of preparedness.

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast.
He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic.

They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. 'Are you a good farm hand?' the farmer asked him.

'Well, I can sleep when the wind blows,' answered the little man.

Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, hired him.

The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.

Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore.

Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, 'Get up! A storm is coming!

Tie things down before they blow away!' The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, 'No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows.'

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew.

When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life?

The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm.

The above story goes on to talk about trials and tribulations in life and if we do our best to understand, accept, and implement the principles learnt by us we will experience a deep sense of security, peace, and joy from within.

We will then be able to 'sleep when the wind blows.

10 year old

"Amma, I am going to the Mall along with my wife and daughter.  Please take care of the house."

"OK son.  You go ahead.  Already my legs are aching.  I am not interested in coming to the mall. You go ahead."

"Grandma, you should also come" insisted the grand daughter ...

"Grandma cannot climb all those steps in the mall.  She does not know how to use the escalator.  As there are no temples there, Grandma will not be interested. She is interested only in going to temples," said the daughter in law.

Though Grandma nodded in agreement the grand daughter was adamant. She refused to come to the mall if Grandma was not coming.  Though Grandma repeated that she was not interested, she could not stand her ground against her dear ten year old granddaughter.  She agreed to accompany them.

The granddaughter was very happy.  Father asked everyone to get dressed up.  Before her parents could get ready, the oldest and the youngest were ready.  The youngster took her grandma to the front room. She drew two parallel lines, a foot apart. She told her grandmother that it was a game and the old lady had to pretend that she was a crane (the bird).
She had to keep one leg within the lines and raise the other leg by three inches.
" What is this my dear?"  asked Grandma...
" This is the Crane game Grandma.  I will show you how to play."                              Both of them played a few times before the father could bring the car....Grandma became adept in the game.

They reached the mall and when they reached the escalator, the father and mother were wondering how the elderly lady would master that. The granddaughter took Grandma near the escalator and asked her to play the Crane game.  Grandma raised her right foot and kept it on one of the moving steps and raised her left leg by three inches and could easily reach the next moving step. This way, she effortlessly used the escalator to reach the higher level, to the wonder of her son and daughter in law.  With her successful debut, Grandma and the grand daughter moved up and down several times on the escalator and were enjoying the fun.

They then went to the theatre to see a movie.  As it was cold inside, granddaughter took out a shawl from her bag and covered the old lady, with a mischievous smile.  She had come prepared for this!  After the movie, they went to a restaurant.  When the son asked his mother what to order, his daughter took away the menu and thrust it in the hands of Grandma.

"You know how to read; better go through the menu and order whatever you want."  Grandma decided the items to be eaten.

Before leaving for home, Grandma went to use the toilet.  Using that occasion, the father asked his daughter how she knew so much about his mother which as a son, he was not aware of.

Prompt came the response: "Dad, when a young child is brought out of the home, you make so many preparations  - milk bottles, diapers, wipes etc. Your  mother would have done all these things for you.  Why not show the same consideration for your mother? Why did you presume that the elderly would be interested only in temples.   They also have normal desires like going out and enjoying all the fun. Since they do not openly express it, we have to coax them to speak up."

The father was speechless. However he was happy to learn a new lesson from his ten year old daughter...

Be someone to help....

# THE_STRANDED_OLD_LADY_AND_BRYAN
One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.
Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was those chills which only fear can put in you.
He said, “I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.”
Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn’t thank him enough for coming to her aid.
Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.
He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, “And think of me.”
He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.
A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn’t erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan.
After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.
There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: “You don’t owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I’m helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.”
Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.
Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard….
She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, “Everything’s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.”
Moral: What Goes around Comes Around. You do good, You will get good in return. Always be Helpful.

TeamWork

A business man gets stranded on a lonely highway in the US. The tyres of his car get stuck badly in a mud pool.

He looks around for help and finally finds an old farmer. The businessman goes to him asking for help to get his car out of the mud.

Farmer gauges the situation, and agrees to help him and says, let us take the help of warwick, an old bull at the farm.

The farmer ties the bull to the car and start shouting loudly,’ FRED, PULL!.. JACK, PULL!.. JOHN, PULL... WARWICK, PULL’.

As the farmer keeps shouting these words, the bull Warwick gets the car out of the pool of mud.

The Businessman is relieved but has a doubt in his mind.
He thanks the farmer and asks him,’ you said the bull’s name was Warwick, and he was alone, then who were Fred, Jack & John?’

The Farmer answered, "See, Warwick is old and is also blind. He does not know he is pulling this car alone. The moment he hears the other names, he thinks he is in a team, and he gives his best".

So is the case with all of us. The very thought that there are others in this same situation as us, gives us a great deal of comfort, hope, confidence and enthuses us to put our heart and soul into any task that we undertake.

It's not without reason that the very word TEAM is said to stand for "Together  Everyone Achieves More".

This too shall pass, Let's work as a team to overcome the crisis.

Bring smile on the face.....

On a flight to Kuala Lumpur recently, I noticed a young girl of seven years old requesting the airhostess for orange juice. The airhostess was probably over-worked and responded quite curtly with ‘I will come by later if I remember’.

The young girl smiled and got up to follow her to the galley. I noticed that she came back after a short while with a glass of orange juice.

As she was seated by the aisle next to me, I struck up a conversation with her. I asked her what she did when she went to the galley! She said she offered to help the airhostess if she had too much work. The airhostess apparently hugged her and appreciated her offer and gave her the orange juice. So, I asked her why she did that.

The young girls response was absolutely magical! She said, my mum always tells me that when people are upset, it has more to do with them having to carry the world on their shoulders. During these moments, she says, I should help offload the world from their shoulders.

I wish, I had her wisdom when I was of her age. Our parents probably tell us the same variation, but very few implement it like she did.

Work is a part of life. Understand people at work and evaluate how heavy a world are they carrying. If life were black or white, it would be monotonous!

A great legacy is worth leaving behind; which brings smile on faces when they remember the gesture or action or behaviour as a lasting impression during every interaction!.

Giving

One evening I was going back from a supermarket. As I have approached my car, I noticed that some person came and stood beside me. He was the one that could be considered as a bum. It seemed that he had no car, no home and no job. I expected that he will ask me for money, but he did not do that, he only said: Your car is very nice“.
After several moments of silence I have replied: Thanks“, and then the inner voice told me: „Ask him if he needs help“. After a short hesitation I have asked him, if he needs any help.

His respond was astonishing, I will never forget those simple three words that I heard from him: Don‘t we all?”

It was a true discovery to me. I needed help. Although I had money and a place to sleep, but I recognized that I needed help too. Then I have opened my wallet and gave him enough money to get a meal and some shelter for a day.

Suddenly I understood that no matter how much money, achievements, luxury things do we have, we all need help. And on the other hand, no matter how poor you are, how many material problems you have, you still might offer your help to others, you still might be giving. Even it‘s just a nice word, you can give that and it can be priceless to other person.

Maybe that man was just a homeless stranger, but to me he was more than that. Maybe he was sent by the Highest Loving Power personally to me, to open my eyes, to show me that there is one thing, among all other values and achievements, which is very important and irreplaceable for each and every person. Actually, it is a true gift and it is called Giving.

Salted Coffee

He met her at a party.
She was a gorgeous woman, so beautiful and intelligent with many men trying to woo her, and he was just an ordinary guy, nobody paid attention to him.

At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised but being polite, she agreed.

They sat in a coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything and she was uncomfortable, raring to leave.

Suddenly he asked the waiter, “Would you please give me some salt? I’d like to put it in my coffee.” Everybody stared at him, so strange!

His face turned red but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it.

She curiously inquired about the salted coffee?”

He replied, “When I was a little boy, I lived near the sea, I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salted coffee.

Now every time I have the salted coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown and my parents.

She was deeply touched and she also spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family.

It was a sweet conversation and also the beautiful beginning of their story.

They continued to date.

She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance and was kind hearted.

He was a good person and she had almost missed him!

Thanks to his salted coffee!

The story was just like every beautiful love story, the princess married the prince, and they were living the happy life…

And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that’s the way he liked it.

After 55 years together, he passed away, left her a note which said, “My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life’s lie. This was the only lie I said to you—the salted coffee.

Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt. It was difficult for me to change so I just went ahead. I never thought that could be the beginning of our communication!

I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do so, as I had promised not to lie to you for anything…....

Now I’m dying, I am afraid of nothing so I have to tell you the truth, I never like the salted coffee, what a strange bad taste… But I have had salted coffee all my life!

But since I knew you, I never felt sorry for it. Having you with me was my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, I would still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even if I have to drink the salted coffee again.”

There were tears in her eyes.

One day someone asked her, “What’s the taste of salted coffee?”
She replied, “Sweet.”

*Actually...love is not to forget but to forgive, not to see but understand, not to hear but to listen, never let go of good friends and relationships even though sometimes we have to taste salted coffee.!*

Wish you great coffee, always.

Patience

A Teacher gave a beautiful toffee to all the children of the class and then said a strange thing:

“Listen, children! All of you not to eat  your toffee for ten minutes and saying that he walked out of the class room.”

There was silence in the classroom for a few moments, every child was looking at the toffee in front of them and it was difficult to stop themselves with each passing moment. Ten minutes are over and the teacher enters the  class room. Reviewed. There were seven children in the whole class, whose toffees  were as it is, while all the other children were eating toffee and commenting on its color and taste. The teacher secretly recorded the names of these seven children in his diary and began to read after noting.
The name of this teacher was Professor Walter Torch.

After a few years, Professor Walter opened his own diary and removed the names of seven children and started researching them. After a long struggle, he came to know that the seven children have achieved many successes in their lives and are the most successful among their own field people. Professor Walter also reviewed the rest of his class of students and it was found that most of them were leading a normal life, while there were some who were faced with strict economic and social conditions.

All this effort and research resulted in one sentence by Professor Walter and that was it.

A man who cannot be patient for ten minutes can never move forward in life*"

This research gained worldwide prominence and was named “Marsh Mello Theory” because the toffee that Professor Walter gave the children was named "Marsh Mello". It was soft like foam.

According to this theory, one of the most successful people in the world are found with special qualitiy of “patience” because this quality increases the strength of the human being, due to which the man is not disappointed in difficult situations and he becomes an extraordinary personality.

Patience is the essence of life.

Suitcase

A man died, when he realized it, he saw God coming closer with a suitcase in his hand.
- God said: Alright son its time to go.
- surprised the man responded: Now? So soon? I had a lot of plans...
- I'm sorry but its time to go.

- What do you have in that suitcase? the man asked.
- God answered: Your belongings.
- My belongings? you mean my things, my clothes, my money?
-God answered: Those things were not yours they belonged to the earth.

- Is it my memories? the man asked.
-God answered: those never belonged to you they belonged to Time

- Is it my talents?
-God answered: those were never yours they belonged to the circumstances.

- Is it my friends and family?
-God answered: I'm sorry they were never yours they belonged to the path.

- Is it my wife and son?
- God answered: They were never yours the belonged to your heart.

- Is it my body?
- God answered: that was never yours it belonged to the dust.

-Is it my soul?
God answered: No that is mine.

Full of fear, the man took the suitcase from god and opened it just to find out the suitcase was empty.
- With a tear coming down his cheek the man said: I never had anything???
-God answered: that is correct, every moment you lived were only yours. Life is just a moment. a moment that belongs to you. For this reason enjoy this time while you have it. Don't let anything that you think you own stop you from doing so.
-Live Now
-Live your life
- Don't forget to be happy, that is the only thing that matters.
- Material things and everything else that you fought for stay here.
-YOU CAN'T TAKE
